Natasha Clifton
During the graduation ceremony of CAWEB Master’s students, CAWEB Student Association had the chance to meet Natasha Clifton, an English CAWEB student of the class of 2020-2021 full of kindness who gave her time to answer our questions. Discover with us her atypical career, anecdotes, and projects! It’s worth having a look.

Hello! What is your name and how old are you?
Hello! My name is Natasha Clifton and I’m 23 years old.
Nice to meet you! So let’s start with the basics! What is your favorite Alsatian dish or drink?
I love flammkuchen! I know it’s really a cliché but I love it…
It’s true that it’s a cliché but that’s what we all like! What is your favorite place in Strasbourg?
I admit that I love the Strasbourg Cathedral. It’s still a bit cliché but it’s stunning!
Moreover, in 2020 it was elected as “the most beautiful Cathedral in France”. Have you ever climbed up the cathedral? It’s no small feat but the view is worth climbing the 300 steps.
Exactly! The view is amazing… but it’s a real physical exercise!
I agree! As for your studies, why did you choose Master Caweb? What characteristics hooked you?
So, before I did LEA Degree and I wanted to head a little more towards the field of the web without neglecting the aspect language. That’s why I chose Master CAWEB!
I totally understand! What did you do as an apprenticeship in M2?
I did an internship as an international marketing assistant in a small start-up near Paris. It was a rewarding experience, I had the opportunity to perform a whole variety of tasks!
Indeed, learning is an enrichment! Excellent experience! What position are you currently in?
I am a communication manager in a company that manufactures machines for the food industry!
Let’s move on to the fun part. What is your best CAWEB student night?
There were evenings when we went out with friends in a bar, we used to play board games! I really enjoyed these moments. These are memories that I keep.
I also like these kinds of parties! What is your unforgettable moment during the master’s?
The covid period… I can’t forget this one!
Indeed, no one is likely to forget it! Who was your sidekick or best friend during your master’s degree?
Well, I didn’t have a “best friend”, we were all united, we all got along! It was truly a group effect.
What are your best anecdotes with professors?
Oh, it was such a long time ago… I must surely have some but it’s been too long!
Yes, I see! Have you traveled with other students? If so, where and tell us more.
Unfortunately not… Covid!
What were the difficulties you had to face during your master’s degree?
In M2, work next to studies. I had to prioritize apprenticeship, it was difficult to manage. I learned pretty quickly how to deal with it but it wasn’t easy. In M1, I had some difficulties translating into French because I am English, but t was fine!
Anyway, you speak really well! Your suggestions for us so that we can better help the next caweb students to orient themselves and succeed in their journey?
So, I would say, do not be afraid to try new things! Sometimes it’s a little intimidating but it’s always worth a try! And if you don’t like it, on the contrary at least you haven’t lost anything.
Definitely! Do you have any future plans?
Well, my plan was to graduate but… it’s happening this afternoon! I would like to travel but ideally continue to work in France.
It’s an exciting journey! Thank you for answering my questions!
You are welcome!
